It is ideal for sampling the red dunes of the Namib Desert, crossing vast expanses of rocks and sand where only hardy scrub survives or, in contrast, enjoying the coolness of the Ruacana Falls, the highest in the region, or Epupa Falls, with its 1,600ft-wide waterfalls.
