Journey through the Cyclades

Your accommodation in Naxos - Villa Marandi
An exclusive location set by the beach just two miles from the main port of Naxos. What makes this place so appealing is its characteristic Cycladic architecture, its boutique rooms with their shaded pergolas, the bougainvillea sprawling the lime-washed walls and the aroma of basil and oregano floating out from the kitchen. On site facilities- include an outdoor swimming pool (with a separate children's pool), garden, playground and a beach with sunbeds and deck chairs, plus a restaurant serving up fish of the day and local specialties.
Your accommodation in Amorgos - Aegialis Hotel
The hotel has a breathtaking view of the sea and is surrounded by every shade of blue, contrasting beautifully with its brilliant white walls. The hotel is nestled on the hillside between two of the island's best beaches, Aegiali and Levroso.Although one of our favourite things about this is the location, we have to say that the traditional and relaxed atmosphere provided by your hosts is especially inviting, with barbecue evenings by the pool, an outdoor cinema at sunset and an evening at a traditional Greek 'Kafenia' (to the sounds of the lute and violin), where you will be thrown back to a time when the island had no electricity, let alone a bar.
On-site facilities include a large saltwater pool, the Ambrosia restaurant with its tables under the wisteria, an outdoor disco (which cannot be heard from the rooms) and a ten-minute walk to the beach.
Route
Flight to Athens
Private transfer upon arrival and two nights' accommodation in a beautiful setting atop Mount Lycabettus, in Kolonaki. The elegance of the neighbourhood has permeated the walls of the building and its interior decor combines quality fittings with contemporary furniture. The Acropolis dominates the view from the window. There's a surprise waiting for you on the roof - a swimming pool like no other in Athens.
Athens
The itinerary includes exploring Athens in the footsteps of a local. During the walk, your guide will tell you all about this city, its legends and tales, and will make sure it's based on your interests.
Option - The Acropolis and the New Museum with a private guide.
Athens - Amorgos
Private transfer to the port of Piraeus and a boat ride to Amorgos. A colourful journey to discover the authenticity of the Cyclades, islands that still move to the steady rhythm of the ocean. Depending on the day, the journey can take up to seven hours but it is more than worth it for the experiences that await. Upon arrival, pick up the rental car and head to your elegant hotel with typical Cycladic architecture where you'll stay for the next four nights. From your room or the pool terrace, the view of the bay and the surrounding mountains is spectacular.
Amorgos
Because of its remoteness, Amorgos has been shielded from the influx of tourism and the disturbance that comes with it. Scattering the land are remarkable archaeological ruins and peaceful villages with sleepy churches. There are many hiking routes snaking around the turquoise coves and through olive fields. The intoxicating atmosphere of this island has inspired many directors, including French film director Luc Besson, who filmed The Big Blue here. You mustn't leave without tasting rakomelo - a hot honey raki - or climbing the 300 steps that lead to Panagia Hozoviotissa, a monastery carved out of rock. Rest assured, it is well worth the effort.
Option - A diving expedition.
Amorgos - Naxos
Travel by speedboat to Naxos and pick up a new vehicle on arrival. Spend four nights at a location overlooking the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. The charming rooms, the bougainvillea trees intertwined along the lime-washed walls, the aroma of basil and oregano floating out from the kitchen... it has everything. The location hasn't sacrificed simplicity for comfort, and here you get the best of both worlds. When you arrive, you are faced with the hard choice of spending the day lazing by the beautiful swimming pool or lying on a sunlounger on the pretty beach, but eventually you'll realise just how well they complement each other.
Naxos
Naxos is the largest of the Cycladic Islands. It was here that Dionysus taught the art of winemaking and Theseus confronted the Minotaur. The Gods are still watching over these lands with their sunlit villages and dazzling beaches. However, the island is not just about tourism. Olive trees are cultivated here in abundance and marble quarries provide a unique raw material for sculptors and craftsmen.
The itinerary includes a private culinary journey. Enjoy homegrown produce in the maze of Naxos' cobblestone streets. On the tasting menu: a liqueur made by distilling and macerating kitron leaves, cheeses including the famous Graviera, local wines and sweets flavoured with bergamot or sage.
Option - A day sailing to Rina Cave and Schinoussa Island.
Naxos - Return Flight
Private transfer to the airport to catch your flight home.

THE ACROPOLIS AND THE NEW MUSEUM - ATHENS
During the latter half of the fifth century BC, Athens gained ascendancy over the other cities of the ancient world. It was a very rich period of history when art, politics and philosophical thought flourished. It was at this time that a group of artists decided to bring the designs drawn up by Pericles - an Athenian statesman - to life. The rocky hill of Athens was transformed and the key monuments of the Acropolis were built. The New Museum is home to more than 350 archaeological relics and sculptures. It exhibits ceramics, bas-reliefs and antique sculptures from places of worship. A private guide will guide take you on an immersive journey, letting you in on the secrets and stories.
Option
INTRODUCTION TO DIVING - AMORGOS
The crystal-clear waters bordering Amorgos are ideal for an introductory diving session. The seabed stuns in all its colours and shapes - it's no wonder it provides the setting for many films. After following the diving instructor's advice on how to use the diving equipment and learning the basic safety rules, exploration of the underwater world can begin.
Optional
SAILING DAY - NAXOS
The coasts of Naxos are a sailor's paradise. Sailing around the island is sure to give you a fresh perspective. You will also spontaneously drop anchor at some unspoiled coves. The plan is to embark on a sail boat towards the cave at Rina Bay, which you can only get to by swimming. Donning a mask and snorkel, you will weave between the stalactites lining the rocky dome. The next port of call is Kalados Bay and the secluded beaches of Schinoussa. You'll be entranced by the waves and the skipper's suggestions.
